Sigma Aldrich showed up and IMMEDIATELY got to work. They wrapped everything quickly and got all the furniture and boxes loaded with little fuss. They were able to load a 15×10 storage container with 3 bedrooms, one living room, one study, and a large kitchen table all without an issue. Talk about master Tetris!
The sort-of part: They broke my 65 OLED TV. Things like this happen though, make sure you take plenty of photos of your valuables, and pack your TVS and electronics in boxes prior to your move. It’s only sort-of bad because I understand things happen, AND Sigma Aldrich took care of it without a fuss. We had insurance to cover it and the owners were 100% responsive in getting the situation taken care of. I was afraid I was going to have a big fight on my hands but they took care of it after only a day of making sure they spoke to their team about the issue. It stinks to have to pay extra for insurance deductibles but that IS a risk of any move, and I can’t fault them for it.
I WILL be calling this company for our next move in about 6 months, but I will also be moving my expensive electronics myself this time. I would 100% recommend these movers if you want professionals that care about getting the job done right the first time. If you have big and expensive TVs, computers or screens, it’s best to move that yourself. Everything else, call Sigma Aldrich!
This would have easily been a 5 star review however, the fact that I was ditched made me trust my gut feeling. I was told Sigma Aldrich would be there at 9am but they had to rent a U-Haul to do the job so they were there after 10:30am, no big deal. Showed up reeking of marijuana and red eyes, not a great first impression but to each their own, no judgment. Halfway during the move I was charged an extra fee because it was told to me I had more than I stated I had but whatever. After packing up THEY decided they were going on lunch but whatever. Began to drive off not even having storage details such as pin code etc., but again whatever. We agreed to meet at storage at 1pm, show up 1:15 (mind you I had a strict deadline which was graciously extended). I was asked if I wanted them to return to pick up the remaining items, which I offered to pay the extra fee for, stated they were on the way (10 minutes away). I waited… and waited…. and waited. Called several times and no response. Then I blocked my number and what do you know, an answer. I was told it was bad business from the start, money was an issue, LIED and said they told me if I didn’t see them in 5 minutes they wouldn’t show (10 minutes away), got frustrated with me calling them out in a polite manner and was hung up on. I’m soooo glad I didn’t send the extra money beforehand. NEVER EVER AGAIN. A bit of advice, smoke your weed AFTER you complete a job, not prior to or during. That was enough to NOT get you paid. Don’t tell a customer you’ll arrive prior to U-Haul being open knowing you have to rent a truck. When you arrive to do the job let the customer know it’ll be extra up front instead of halfway through the job. Last but not least let customer know you can’t return instead of lying and wasting their time knowing you weren’t going to return. Oh and refrain from personal calls, you’re being paid on someone else’s time, which 40% of was wasted. Other than that my things were handled with care and the quiet gentleman was very professional and a pleasure to pay.
Is all lies. You quoted $375. Halfway through you then asked for $425! We negotiated $400. So the funds were had, you settled for the $400. I was prepared, you weren’t willing because the money was there! I will post messages and Cash App.
