A friend recommended using Rainier Overseas Movers — I am so glad she did! My friend had a very good experience and so did we! In fact, the moving truck and delivery has been the smoothest part of our entire move. When’s the last time you’ve heard that? Maybe never?!
We were moving from the eastern US to Western Canada over the Christmas holiday. My initial and only contact with Rainier was Don Arroyo. He was wonderful. Responsive, informative, and kind. It was so nice to have one go to person and know I wasn’t going to get passed around each time I had a question. And I had a lot! We had never moved internationally before and we found out there were a lot more moving parts than a domestic move. In addition, moving in the middle of the winter was an added challenge due to the holidays and weather.
We held our breathe, putting all our faith in Don that he had it all figured out — and he did! The crews on both ends were great – polite, friendly, careful and efficient. Every box was accounted for upon delivery and while we haven’t unpacked every last thing yet because we’re planning on some renovations, we’ve opened several of our boxes including fragile stemware and have not found a single damaged item.
Our paperwork was all in order for the border and the bond warehouse – cleared both with no hiccups and Fawn was great in coordinating things on this end in terms of warehouse clearance and timing of delivery.
And it all happened in plenty of time before our kids headed back to school after the holiday break. The packing crew did a great job labeling boxes with lots of detail of contents on box and manifest making it easy to locate what we needed most quickly — like book bags and snow boots!
I can’t thank Don (and the team at Rainier) enough for his support throughout the entire process and expert coordination of our move.
