This was my first time ever shipping a car and I made sure to do my research to pick the best company. Mercury Auto Transport seemed great, but unfortunately my experience was not very good.
I had gotten a few different quotes at different times, because I was looking at a few different cars at the same time trying to figure out how much it would cost for each one. Finally found the right car, then I got my quote (which was actually reasonable) and had my agent find me a driver.
He did answer my questions at first. As the days went on, it was hard to get any update. I understand people are busy, but even a quick two word response would suffice. I was trying to work around the seller’s busy schedule, and it was stressful for both of us after the first driver.
I booked my transport 08/7/2022 and he found a driver 08/10/2022. I paid the $175 deposit and waited 5 days and heard nothing from the driver. I assumed drivers were supposed to message you to confirm pick-up or to let you know what was going on but I didn’t get anything from anyone.
On 08/15/2022, the driver didn’t even attempt to contact me before he just left and didn’t pick up my car. The seller didn’t think he would fit up his driveway with his rig, so instead of contacting me or at least trying, he just left. I wasn’t in the loop with anything, so I was pretty sad when I heard about this.
I did request for my agent to find a smaller rig, which he did acknowledge which was nice. Problem was, the seller was frustrated for sure. He wanted the car gone and I wanted my car here. So I did mention (on 08/18/2022) to my agent that I am okay with getting any sized rig, as I will tow the car first.
I didn’t get a clear acknowledgement of that, though, just a day later an automated we’re looking for a driver response.
On 08/22/2022 I did finally get a real message, my agent told me he found a new driver for that same day. Last minute, I had to get the seller’s okay to go ahead and book as he had to leave work early in order to make it. There weren’t any details regarding the size of the rig, only price owed at drop off, but I didn’t mind at this point I was happy with anything.
I ended up finishing with the link at 10:07 AM and messaged so, and then asked a few more follow up questions about 2 hours apart. I received no response. At 12:51 PM I asked, quote When should I receive the email confirmation and their contact info? I’d like to be notified by them when they are out for pickup.
And at 2:29 PM I asked, quote Just let me know when and if you get their contact info so I can know when they’re out for pickup, thank you.
I did not receive any contact information regarding my new driver, I had to call Mercury support themselves and ask. The lady on the phone was surprised my agent didn’t give me any info, so she gave it to me. Tried to connect me to my agent as well but he didn’t pick up, I just hung up.
It was a hassle after that due to towing issues not regarding Mercury, but I at least got a driver.
But, it would’ve been nice to know contact details beforehand, as it would’ve been less stressful knowing that I did in fact had to tow my car first.
I feel like I was ignored. And I understand I did change my mind regarding what size rig I wanted, but I wasn’t really getting any updates or communication about what was going on before or after that. It was kind of having to hope my car would be picked up and not even knowing until after the fact. I felt frustrated and it was very stressful the moment I booked my transport. Definitely disappointed.
Extremely stressful experience, when it definitely should not have been. Will never again use a broker or this company! Lesson learned.

Dont expect them to be on any type of time. They arrived to my door at 945a.m when my appointment was for 7-9a.m. Very very slow movers to the point where my girlfriend was helping them move things to the truck and off the truck while I’m out of town working. They also told me they could take down my tv plus tv mount and install it at my new house. Only reason I really chose them. Well that didn’t happen. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH EXPENSIVE ITEM ELECTRONICS. Brand new 65 LG 3200$ tv they broke the whole right side of my screen and shattered it. They left it against my wall with the screen facing the wall.
Also very sketchy company. They make you pay thru venmo before getting your belongings off the truck which doesn’t make since bc the move off the truck could take a shorter time than loading the items.
