   Two stars because technically HI SPEED COURIER did get my stuff from my former home to my new location with only one lost item and couple of minor scrapes/dents. The process was unfortunately very stressful and the company does a very poor job of communicating.
   First on the day of our move out, no movers had shown up by 10 (was told they’d be there around 830). Called my move coordinator who told me I was wrong I wasn’t moving for 9 more days. She claimed she had our contract in front of her which said that and told me someone would call me to discuss but that I was wrong about the date. Thankfully I had a copy of the contract which showed our item pickup day as the date I indicated with 9 days of storage and the date she thought was our move out day was supposed to be the last day of storage. I called the coordinator back and asked that she look at page two of the contract where the move out date is clearly written and was underlined multiple times. Apparently the five star service they promise does not include attention to detail. She scrambled together a crew of people only one of which seemed to really know how to move and the others seemed very inexperienced. I got no apology and no communication until people showed up 5 hours later at my home. I still didn’t receive any apology from the move coordinator until I contacted her a few days later to complain about how the situation had turned out.
   Second, our items didn’t leave the storage as promised on my contract (claimed they didn’t have a driver available) but instead left five days later. and therefore took five extra days to arrive at our destination leaving us to wait with no furniture. Technically our items arrived in the ten day window they guaranteed, but again I received no communication or apology from our move coordinator until I contacted her two days after our storage pickup was scheduled to ask why I hadn’t heard anything, but again still no apology.
   They get points for a generally pleasant crew of movers at each location. We tipped them well and provided food as well as lots of water as it was hot. The movers at our destination did complain a fair bit to me about our choice of apartment being a third floor walkup….but it’s not like I chose that place to torture movers I just took the apartment I could get! They also lost a large brightly colored item that is fairly valuable to me. I have not yet filed a claim for this because we just finished opening all our boxes and ensured nothing else was missing, but we only moved in 7 days ago so I still have time.
   Other minor points: The person who setup my quote indicated that they would disassemble and wrap our heavier furniture including a large mirror and the movers that showed up had not received any of this information and didn’t have the necessary equipment with them. Also the initial quote was made with the destination address of our apartment complex main office since we hadn’t gotten the address of our unit yet. When this was known I communicated this on two separate occasions to my move coordinator (and she said she would fix it) and still the paperwork was incorrect when the movers showed up. I again corrected all parties and when the movers arrived at our new apartment they showed up at the wrong place because no one had told them or updated the paperwork….very poorly organized company.
   Moving is expensive and any moving company risks some damage or a couple lost items no matter how careful they are. Pick your moving company based on reputation, customer service, communication, and attention to detail. I wouldn’t bother with this company (and I certainly won’t again) as they seem to lack in those regards. My family has had good success with United Van Lines on multiple moves so I will likely go with them next time.

   These Hi Speed Courier movers did a phenomenal job and took extra care of my furniture and smaller items while moving! The truck was packed methodically and everything was able to fit and was wrapped up properly to avoid scratches/damage. They even helped to assemble the beds back together and check that TV’s turned on okay when getting everything settled in! Not a single thing was broken or missing after it was all said and done. This was a great crew and if I ever have to move again, I will be using this company! Very reasonable pricing too for the work they put in!

   I don’t understand how HI SPEED COURIER has such good reviews, it must be a scam. The sales guy was so dishonest. He would tell me everything I wanted to hear when we spoke over the phone, but then as soon as I asked him to put it in writing he’d completely change everything. Finally I got frustrated so I called to ask to speak with a manager so I could just finalize the move. The manager was so sketchy and also rude/unresponsive. I can’t imagine what it would be like dealing with them if god forbid there was an issue with your move. Hire at your own risk.
