    I purchased a Pod so that I could move my furniture out and finish my hardwood floors. I got multiple quotes and PODS seemed to be the most affordable and reputable storage service. I paid for 1 month but was done 2 weeks early. When I called to pick it up the only dates available were 5½ weeks out. I was told that inventory was low, and they wouldn’t be able to pick it up for 5½ weeks. My mind still boggles at the idea that not picking up their own inventory was the solution. I confirmed that I would not be changed the additional month due to their inability to pick it up.
    Behold I was indeed charged the additional month. I talked to 3 different people to resolve the issue. The first-person sort of apologized for the error and said I would be refunded in 3-5 days. The second person (7 days later) again promised me that I would be refunded, and the third (another 4 days later) said that my refund would only be initiated when the POD was picked up. Essentially, I was storing their inventory for 2½ weeks AND being charged for it.
    The jury is still out on whether that has been refund has been processed.
    I originally had thought that when we actually move this would be a perfect middle ground between moving ourselves and hiring movers. That may still be the case, but it won’t be with this company.
