Logan and Dio were absolutely fantastic! Not only did they help with the move of my piano but they also came in with the moving blankets tape them to the piano and then lifted the piano up onto a dolly so that it could be moved safely without damaging any of the floors. They were polite, respectful, and so personable! I will definitely be recommending first step moving to all of my friends!
The people who work there seem to be so annoyed by the costumers. One time the worker who was there was so annoyed and was telling someone in the front that we was quitting soon. I guess not soon enough, because he is the same rude man who take my returns after 2 months. So sad. Now I drive 15 just to avoid him.
We were supposed to move between 8 am and 10 am on Saturday 3 weeks ago. Passed 10 am, they had not shown up and they had not called so I called. They told me that the truck was broken and they would arrive between noon and 1 pm. Same scenario passed 1 pm: no show and no call. That was a little nerve wracking since we had to empty the house that day. They finally shown up after 2 pm, at what point the driver wanted to get paid before starting the job. I was able to solve this minor irritation with customer service. They started loading the truck at 3 pm. This is when we realized that instead of having the 26’ truck for our stuff, it was already half full. All our stuff was packed by us before they shown up except our furniture. It should have taken no more than 3 hours to load the truck. Because they did not have enough space they disassemble all the furniture to squeeze everything in. It was insane. They finished loading the truck at 11 pm. I am sure the neighbors were not very happy. Also load and unload are paid by the hour. We asked the driver when to expect our household at destination. He said “I don’t know, I am not driving this to your destination”. We had to sleep in a hotel because it was late to drive 500 miles. The day after around 10 am no news from the moving company. They were supposed to deliver that day. I called and was told we don’t know where your household is. We will call you back. It took the guy 3 hours to figure it out. He told me it would be delivered the day after, first thing in the morning and the driver would call me the evening before to let me know he had arrived in the city. He did not and at 10 am the day after nobody had contacted me so I called. They told me between noon and 1 pm. At 1 pm, again no show and no call. I called and was told the day after, first thing in the morning. The Tuesday morning the driver finally shown up. They were supposed to be two to unload. The driver had a helper for no more than 2 hours. He had to reassemble the furniture and he did not know how since he was not the one who disassembled it so it took time. He arrived at 8 am and left at 3 pm. I told him it was ok not to reassemble the last bit; poor guy was looking for a pdf on the internet. After some stress, two missed work days , one dirtied lamp and one scratched walnut recliner, the company kindly reimbursed us two nights at the hotel and 300$.
